One food with the strongest anti-inflammatory benefit is garlic. I’ve tried garlic in pill form from many brands, and found the odorless softgel from Spring Valley to be the best (not associated with the vendor in any way). It’s available at Walmart. But generally speaking, a diet based on vegetables & fruits, seeds & nuts, and selected seafood is the way to go. Avoid animal fat & meat, e.g. beef, pork, lamp etc. at all cost, as well as refined/processed carbs.

I think the GAPS diet could be a good option as many skin conditions are symptoms of things going on in your gut.

It was very helpful. A few questions about the kefir. I want to learn to make my own and wondered about the sugar. Can it be honey or coconut sugar? Use it with Harmless Harvest coconut water to make the kefir or plain water for the first step with the grains? Where is a good source for kefir grains?

I have followed much of your advice for quite some time. One area which where we disagree is your constant encouragement of using coconut products in a BIG way. I have lived by blood type diet for over 30 years, long before it became popular, with extreme success. Foods are listed as either beneficial, neutral, or avoid. It is a genetic situation and will not change. Simply stated when our bodies can not recognize and process the molecules in a food the immune system goes on attack setting up health issues. Coconut products are an “avoid” for O blood type. That means just what it says..do not use anything coconut. I am a trainer and fitness consultant and a long time student of preventative health care and because we are all different I
am not a proponent of advising my clients in a cookie cutter manner in any area of health. My question to you is do you believe, and can you assure me, that coconut product is tonic for us all. If so then we disagree but if not perhaps you should include alternatives in your recommendations.

Respectfully submitted, Judy

My unsweetened coconut milk is only 45 calories per serving. Sweetened runs about 90. I find it to be a healthy and delicious alternative to creamers for coffee and tea. My granddaughter has nixed some brands of water due to heating, etc. I also look at the magnesium quantity if available. I have read several accounts that coconut water was substituted for blood plasma during shortages during the war (I am assuming WW2)..

Dr Marvin Rapaport is the most recognized expert in the US and over much of the world. We consult with him.
The only solution is to suffer through the withdrawal which can take unto 4 years!
My challenge is to keep her healthy through this time (she is 2 years into recovery).
I have been attending the Functional Health Summits including yours (nicely done, by the way)

Eighty percent of my wife body is inflamed. Her skin is slowly being destroyed and replaced. This is accompanied by pain, swelling, itching, oozing and recently joint swelling and pain. I am looking for natural ways to reduce inflammation, swelling and joint pain. I am hoping that your vase knowledge and many contacts that you may be able to point out some good references.

Thanks
John
